The commemorative DVD, “Grampian Police – the Legacy” is still available. It was made by Aberdeen film maker John Robertson, who had unprecedented access to various Grampian Police departments and archives before the force ceased to exist in April 2013. The 54-minute documentary features interviews with both serving and retired officers, previously unseen footage of the investigation following the tragic Piper Alpha disaster and the SAS storming a hostage situation at Peterhead Prison. The documentary seeks to show the hard work, dedication and commitment of officers and support staff throughout the Force’s history.
